Roermond, the Netherlands – 20 September 2016. Sif Holding N.V. (“Sif or “the Company”), a leading manufacturer of large steel tubulars which are used as foundation components for the offshore wind and offshore oil & gas markets, announces today that it has completed the first monopiles in the new assembly facility at Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam.
On Sunday 4 September 2016 the first sections for monopiles arrived at the new assembly facility at Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam from the factory in Roermond where all the parts for the monopiles are being produced. The construction of the assembly facility at Maasvlakte II is on schedule and at a stage that the assembly of monopiles could commence. The coating of the monopiles will start in the fourth quarter 2016 in order to be ready for the first load out of monopiles in December 2016. The first monopiles that will leave the assembly facility at Maasvlakte II are being built for the Galloper project off the east coast of the UK.
