Achmea Bank N.V. reported a profit before tax for 2015 of EUR 6 million compared to a profit of EUR 35 million last year. The profit for 2014 was strongly influenced by the sale of government bonds with a gain of EUR 37 million. The result for 2015 includes a profit of EUR 3 million due to the sale of RMBS notes. Without these gains the profit before tax in 2015 improved. This improvement was mainly due to a higher operating result (EUR 16 million), which was driven by an increased interest margin (EUR 12 million) and lower operating expenses (EUR 4 million). The fair value result decreased by EUR 11 million compared to 2014.
