Amsterdam, the Netherlands, January 23, 2012 - Ahold has repurchased 2,256,797 Ahold common shares in the period from January 16, 2012 up to and including January 20 , 2012. The shares were repurchased at an average price of € 10.1833 per share for a total consideration of € 22.98 million. These repurchases were made as part of the € 1 billion share buyback program announced on March 3, 2011.
