Achilles Netherlands Holdings B.V. (Achilles) has today announced that it is extending the period in which shareholders are able to accept the recommended cash offer for Brit Insurance Holdings N.V. The next closing date has been set at 10 January 2011.
There are still a number of outstanding conditions which need to be satisfied, including FSA, Lloyd’s and FSC (Gibraltar) approvals, and consequently it is standard practise to extend the acceptance period. To date 70.8% of shareholders have accepted the offer which we expect to rise as further conditions of the offer are met.
