LeasePlan applies for Dutch guarantee scheme

LeasePlan Corporation N.V. announces to have filed an application with the Dutch State Treasury Agency to participate in the 2008 Credit Guarantee Scheme of the State of the Netherlands that was restated recently. This Guarantee Scheme aims at restoring the normal interbank relationship in debt capital and money markets. Since several other Dutch banks also have expressed that they wish to apply to participate in the Guarantee Scheme, the market for State guaranteed issues is expected to start functioning shortly. On the basis of such guarantee LeasePlan anticipates to issue medium term notes under its EUR 15 billion Debt Issuance Programme.
