Zeewolde, 3 August 2007 - Spyker Cars N.V., Formula One constructor and manufacturer of exclusive premium sports cars, states the following in reaction to an article in De Pers of this morning about the alleged existence of a side letter with Mingya European Resort Ltd.
In August 2006 Midland F1 signed a sponsorship agreement with Mingya as part of the Service Agreement with Christijan Albers and CA B.V. All Spyker team sponsors introduced under this agreement entered into a direct contract with Spyker F1 (formerly Midland F1). The agreement with Mingya formed a part of the purchase of the Midland F1 team by Spyker in September last year. Spyker is not aware of a side letter with Mingya.
As of the beginning of 2007 Spyker has formally notified Mingya about its default to pay the installments due under the sponsorship agreement. All parties involved were aware of the payment default of Mingya.
