OncoMethylome Awarded BioWin Research Grant

Liege (Belgium) – April 27, 2007, 7:00 am CET – OncoMethylome Sciences announced today that it has been awarded a grant amounting to EUR 1.95 million by the Walloon government as part of the BioWin Marshall Plan program.
A project led by OncoMethylome Sciences was selected by an international jury of experts and the Walloon government for a grant targeting innovative R&D programs in the healthcare field. The research project, which is a collaboration between OncoMethylome, the University of Liege, and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, is focused on early detection of women’s cancers and cancer vaccines. The total subsidy for the project amounts to EUR 3.5 million, of which EUR 1.95 million is allocated to OncoMethylome and the remainder to the University of Liege. The research work will be carried out in Liege over a period of four years.
