Zeewolde, 15 March 2007 - Spyker Cars N.V. (“Spyker”), Dutch manufacturer of high-quality sports cars, would like to make the following statement in reaction to rumors in the press about a potential acquisition of Lotus Cars plc.
Spyker has been a customer of Lotus Engineering for several years and hence board level discussions on all forms of possible co-operation occur on a regular basis. As per standard practice, these discussions are subject to a non-disclosure agreement.
Victor Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars N.V., commented from Melbourne, Australia: “We are determined to grow the company in the coming years and acquisition of other respected and successful luxury brands is certainly one area of consideration, but our immediate priority is successful involvement in this weekends Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne with our Spyker F1 team and the 12 Hours of Sebring with our Spyker GT2 team”.
