ABN AMRO to purchase 0.95% stake in Capitalia from Pirelli
ABN AMRO announces today that it will acquire 24.6 million shares or 0.95% of Capitalia following the decision of Pirelli S.p.A. to sell its 1.92% holding. Following the purchase, ABN AMRO’s stake will increase to 8.60% from the current level of 7.65%. The shares will be purchased at EUR 6.6993 a share.
As a member of the Capitalia shareholder pact, ABN AMRO and other pact members have a pre-emptive right to acquire Pirelli’s holding in Capitalia. Pirelli is a member of the Capitalia shareholder pact and has expressed its intention to sell its shares in Capitalia.
On 12 September 2006, ABN AMRO announced its decision to remain a member of the Capitalia shareholder pact.
