Global organization provides venue for sharing integration industry knowledge and promoting best practices standards
ATLANTA –- 8 August 2006 – Seagull Software (AEX: SEAGULL), a leading provider of high-performance software solutions that transform legacy business applications into service-oriented architecture (SOA) assets, announced it has joined the Vienna, Virginia-based Integration Consortium.
Founded in 2001, the Integration Consortium realized a need for collaboration among end users, software vendors and academics to provide knowledge advancement, education and thought leadership while promoting standards-based best practices for the integration industry. Today, the Integration Consortium consists of 75-plus members worldwide representing a wide array of experts in the integration marketplace. The non-profit consortium also has chapters in Europe, UK, Scandinavia, Middle East and APAC.
“In today's IT environment, Service Oriented Architecture plays an essential role in integrating application systems but legacy mainframe solutions can be particularly challenging” said John Schmidt, Chairman of the Integration Consortium. “As a major integration solution provider within the Integration Consortium, Seagull Software’s expertise and vision in transforming “legacy” applications into SOA-compliant Web services will help guide consortium initiatives and ensure that enterprise integration solutions and activities address the full spectrum of integration requirements.”
