On 8 October 2012, Van Lanschot issued € 500 million of senior unsecured bonds, attracting exceptionally high interest from institutional investors.
The bonds have a 4-year term (maturing on 17 October 2016), were priced at 225 basis points above the 4-year mid-swap rate and have a coupon of 2.875%. This transaction forms part of Van Lanschot's general funding activities.
The transaction further improves the bank's balanced funding profile. The bonds were issued to an extremely broad group of European institutional investors, including in Germany, Austria, France, the UK and the Benelux. Van Lanschot has a consistently strong funding ratio, which stood at over 85% at 30 June 2012.
