24 April 2008 – In the first quarter of 2008, Qurius achieved net sales of EUR 37.0 million (Q1 2007: 25.7 million). This is an increase of 44%. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) were EUR 1.4 million (first quarter 2007: EUR 1.2 million), which is an increase of 22%. Result after taxes has grown by 52% towards EUR 0.8 million.
The 2008 Q1 results include activities from all of the companies acquired in 2007. Net sales have increased significantly, continuing the positive take-off at the end of 2007 (Q4 2007 net sales were EUR 35.4 million) and are considered to be in line with the expectations. However, the profit margin is not yet in line with Qurius’ targets. Several factors, including a relatively high usage of subcontractors, the level of license sales and integration costs, demand our attention in order to improve the EBIT level. Qurius sees room for improvement of these aspects in the coming months.
With regard to staff build-up Qurius has been strongly investing in recruitment, which has started to show effect in the Netherlands. In 2008 the Qurius Near Shore Development Centre in the Czech Republic has been initiated and will start to deliver extra development capacity as of the end of the second quarter.
