De Oostenrijkse toezichthouder Financial Market Authority en de Belgische toezichthouder FSMA waarschuwen tegen de activiteiten van Amicus Investment

The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) warns the public against the activities of Amicus Investment, a company that offers investment services.
Amicus Investment is not an authorized investment firm in Belgium. It is therefore not allowed to provide investment services in or from Belgium.
Moreover, according to the information available to the FSMA, the activities proposed could be of a fraudulent nature, i.e. boiler room fraud. More information on this form of fraud is available in the general warning published by the FSMA on 9 February 2017.
The FSMA thus strongly advises against responding to any offer of financial services made by Amicus Investment and against transferring money to any account number it might mention.
Amicus Investment uses the website www.amicusinvest.com, the email address email@example.com and the phone number +43 720 116 821. It claims to have its registered office in Austria (Post Box 102827, Industriestrasse 31, Lauterach 6923).
Amicus Investment has already been the subject of a warning by the Austrian supervisory authority (FMA), dated 13 November 2016.

Pursuant to Article 4 para. 7 first sentence of the Bankwesengesetz (BWG; Banking Act), the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) may disclose to the general public by publication on the Internet, in the official gazette “Amtsblatt zur Wiener Zeitung”, or in any other newspaper with nationwide circulation, that a particular natural or legal person (person) is not entitled to carry out certain banking transactions, provided that said person has given cause for such action and informing the general public is deemed necessary and reasonable with regard to possible disadvantages of the person concerned.
By publication in the official gazette “Amtsblatt zur Wiener Zeitung” of 13 November 2014, the FMA informs, that

is not entitled to carry out banking transactions in Austria that require a licence. Therefore the acceptance of funds from other parties for the purpose as deposits (deposit business) is not allowed pursuant to Article 1 Para. 1 Z 1 BWG.
