Partnerships

The AFM works closely with national and international partners, including in the field of investigation and enforcement, to proactively and timely identify financial-economic crime risks and, where necessary and possible, take action.

Some examples of such partnerships are:

Financial Expertise Centre

The Financial Expertise Centre (FEC) is a partnership between authorities with supervisory, monitoring, prosecution or investigative tasks in the financial sector and was established to strengthen the integrity of this sector. The FEC does so by taking preventive and active action against threats that may undermine this integrity. The AFM is one of the FEC partners. More information about the cooperation within the Financial Expertise Centre (Financieel Expertise Centrum).

Criminal and Unexplained Assets Infobox (iCOV)

iCOV stands for the Criminal and Unexplained Assets Infobox. It is a partnership of various government bodies and supervisory authorities, including the AFM. iCOV supports these partners through data-driven reports in combating, among other things, money laundering, tax evasion and fraud. The participants and the manner in which they cooperate within iCOV are laid down in the Data Processing by Partnerships Act (WGS). All participating organisations contribute staff and resources to the partnership. iCOV provides reports to organisations within the partnership. Within participating organisations, only individuals with specific authorisation are able to request these reports. Read more about iCOV (iCOV).
