Obligation to notify an early termination of a statutory audit engagement

If a company or auditor prematurely terminates or withdraws from an engagement agreement for the performance of a legal audit for a specific financial year, the company must immediately notify the AFM.

The notification of early withdrawal or termination of an audit engagement includes an adequate description why the engagement is terminated. For this mandatory notification, companies can use the AFM Portal, please follow Sign in and select the appropriate notification.
