The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) warns the public against the activities of ADEF, a company or association that approaches victims of investment fraud to offer them recovery services.
The ADEF company/association approaches investors who have been victims of fraud, claiming that, for a fee, they can help them recover the sums invested or the losses incurred on unlawfully operating trading platforms.
This type of activity is typical of the fraud mechanism known as a "recovery room". Additional information about this type of fraud is provided in the general warning published by the FSMA on 16 March 2015.
The FSMA thus advises against responding to any offer of financial service made by the ADEF company/association and against transferring money to any account number it might mention.
ADEF claims to have its registered office in France (Les Mercuriales, BP 48659, 93170 Bagnolet, France) and uses the telephone number +33 1 70 61 32 11 and generic email addresses structured as follows: [name of contact person]-firstname.lastname@example.org.
Would you like to enquire more generally as to whether a transaction being proposed complies with the financial legislation? Please use the search function (available in French and Dutch only) on the FSMA website. You can also contact the FSMA directly (email address: email@example.com).
