Fortis holding publishes addendum to shareholder circular

As announced in its press release of 30 January 2009, Fortis holding would publish an addendum to the shareholder circular made available in view of the 11 February 2009 General Meeting of Shareholders of Fortis SA/NV. This addendum has been made available on www.fortis.com today. The addendum reflects the details of the improvements to the transactions concluded in October 2008 that Fortis, the Belgian State and BNP Paribas have agreed on. It also gives an insight in the estimated impact on Fortis’ pro forma financial position as well as the implications on the agenda of the General Meeting of Shareholders of Fortis SA/NV on 11 February 2009.
Shareholders who have already provided Fortis with a proxy containing voting instructions and who would like to change such voting instructions in view of this addendum are urged to send to Fortis SA/NV a new proxy, and this no later than 7 p.m. on 4 February 2009.
The Dutch and French versions of the addendum to the shareholder circular will be made available as soon as possible after the English version.
