European Commission permanently lowers threshold for short-selling notification

The European Commission has adopted the decision to permanently lower the notification threshold of net short positions from 0.2% to 0.1%. This adjustment shall take effect on Monday, 31 January 2022.

From this date onwards, position holders will have to report their net short position in a stock when this position exceeds, succeeds or equals 0.1% of the issued share capital and for each 0.1% above that.

For more information, including the way positions in the bandwidth 0.1-0.19% created before the 31st of January have to be reported, please refer to the statement published by ESMA.
