Gerben Everts started as a Director of the AFM on Friday 16 September. After completing the internal orientation programme, he will be holding meetings to get acquainted with market participants and other interested parties. In the AFM’s Management Group, he will be responsible for the supervision of audit firms and financial reporting.
Gerben Everts succeeds Steven Maijoor, who was appointed as Chairman of the new European securities regulator ESMA earlier this year. Everts was previously employed by APG, where he was Manager of Corporate Finance, Control and Risk Management.
