In recent months, dozens of consumers have called the AFM because they received a letter from a German law firm. This letter states that they wish to collect a claim in the amount of € 121.80 on behalf of Transact Network Ltd. The reason is that the consumer allegedly uses a Medius Card prepaid credit card. In most cases, the consumer never applied for a prepaid credit card, however.
The AFM advises consumers not to pay if no prepaid credit card has been activated or if no agreement has been concluded between yourself and Medius Card and/or Transact Network Ltd. The AFM has no indications that Transact Network Ltd. is involved in the activities of Medius Card.
There are discussions concerning this subject on various forums on the internet. Visit for example the website of the Fraud Help Desk: www.fraudehelpdesk.nl/nieuwsbericht/Ongevraagd_Medius_MasterCard
