MiFID II - Investor protection

The revision of MiFID I leads to important changes in rules and regulations with regard to investor protection. The investor protection is enhanced due to stricter and new rules of conduct under MiFID II.

For example, investment firms must provide more information about the costs of an investment service and about the independence of their investment advice. New rules of conduct are also being introduced for the provision of investment services. For instance, staff who are in contact with clients must satisfy professional competence requirements. Investor protection is also enhanced by imposing organisational requirements. For example, because rules for product development will now also apply to investment firms.
