Update net short positions
On Tuesday afternoon 24 January after the market close, the AFM unintentionally published a list on its website that included net short positions of less than 0.5%. The AFM regularly publishes a daily list of net short positions of 0.5% or more. The AFM corrected the mistake and posted the correct list of net short positions on the morning of Wednesday 25 January. We regret this error and we understand that this may have caused inconvenience for the market parties concerned.
Yesterday and today the AFM continuously monitored the market and has not identified unexpected market movements related to the unintended publication. It should also be taken into account that the value of this information will decline over time, since short positions are usually held for a short period only. The AFM publishes notifications of positions of 0.5% or higher on its website on a daily basis.
Furthermore, the AFM has contacted amongst others parties that have fulfilled their notifications duties and issuing companies.
