Information on how to submit a Market Money Fund report

As a result of the Money Market Fund Regulation (MMFR), investment institutions must report quarterly. It is important that this is done in a timely and complete manner.

Submitting the reports

MMF reports can be submitted via 'Reporting obligations' in the AFM Portal. Here you will find an overview of the reporting obligations for your company and the investment institutions under your company's management. By clicking on a reporting obligation in this overview, you will see more information about this obligation and you can submit the associated MMF report by uploading it.

No account for the AFM Portal yet? Then you can register at the bottom of the login page. A manual for this can be downloaded here. A manual for the optimal use of the reporting environment in the AFM Portal can be downloaded here.

Submission times of the reports

The latest submission date for MMF reports is 30 days after the end of the relevant reporting period. Below is an overview of the legal submission periods:

In addition, under 'Reporting obligations' in the AFM portal, you can consult the latest delivery date and the status of reporting obligations.

Format of the reports

The MMF reports must be submitted in XML format. It is important that you submit a separate XML file for each reporting obligation that is open in the AFM Portal, containing only the data for that obligation. Each sub-fund is regarded as an individual fund. The current requirements that your reports must meet can be found on the ESMA website.

Common mistakes when completing the reports

The AFM or ESMA validation regularly rejects MMF reports because the following data points are entered incorrectly. Therefore, a brief explanation of these data points follows below:

  • NtlRegnNb: mandatory field for the fund, in the reporting obligation in the AFM portal under “Reference code” you can find which value is expected here.
  • FndAuthrtyRegnNb: mandatory field, here you enter the same relationship number of the manager as for the AIFMD report and not the permit number. In an AIFM reporting obligation in the AFM portal, under "Reference code" you can find which value is expected here.
  • FndMgmtCpnyAuthrtyRegnNb: mandatory field, here you enter the same relationship number of the manager as for the AIFMD report and not the permit number. In an AIFM reporting obligation in the AFM portal, under "Reference code" you can find which value is expected here.
  • AltrnId: this is not a mandatory field for both fund and manager, but if you enter it incorrectly, the report will be rejected.

Announcements concerning the MMF reporting

The AFM will send notifications about the MMF report to the users of the AFM Portal who have access to the MMF report.
