|May 2016||The European Council and the European Parliament (EP) reach an agreement to postpone the application of MiFID II by one year to 3 January 2018. The deadline for the implementation of MiFID II in national legislation is 3 January 2017.|
|End 2015 - spring 2016||EC's reaction to the RTS submitted by ESMA. After this, the EP and the European Council can still lodge an objection. Subsequently, the publication of the final RTS in the Official Journal of the EU takes place.|
|July 2017||EU Member States must have incorporated the MiFID II Directive into national laws as of 3 July 2017.
