Register covered bonds
What can you find in this register?
Covered bonds are bonds backed by a pool of assets to which, in the event of default, recourse can be had for interest and redemption payments. The issuing bank must supplement the pool of assets if at any point in time the cover becomes insufficient.
This part of the register includes banks wishing bonds issued or to be issued by them to be entered in a public register. DNB performs this registration if the bank concerned demonstrates that the bonds are truly covered bonds.
Supervision
The Decree of 3 June 2008 providing for amendment of the Decree on Prudential Rules for Financial Undertakings and the Decree on Conduct of Business Supervision of Financial Undertakings in respect of Covered Bonds (Besluit van 3 juni 2008, houdende wijziging van het Besluit prudentiële regels Wft en het Besluit gedragstoezicht financiële ondernemingen Wft, inzake gedekte obligaties) introduces supervision of covered bonds issued by Dutch-based banks.
