Financial Information Leaflet (Financiële Bijsluiter)

Since 1 July 2002, any provider of a complex financial product has been obliged to make a Financial Information Leaflet available. At the end of 2004, the AFM issued recommendations for improving Financial Information Leaflets. The new Financial Information Leaflet has to be shorter, clearer and better organised and has to include a risk indicator (riscometer). The new Financial Information Leaflet was introduced together with the Financial Services Act [Wet financiële dienstverlening] (Wfd). On 1 January 2007, the Wfd is to be replaced by the Act on Financial Supervision [Wet op het financieel toezicht].
