Annual report 2002
This is the annual report of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) 2002. The AFM is the successor of the Securities Board of the Netherlands (STE) as from 1 March 2002. As a result, during the year under review, the organisation changed from the supervisory authority of the securities trade to the supervisory authority of the conduct of all of the financial markets. A large part of the annual report is therefore dedicated to the changeover from the STE to the AFM.
Essence
The annual report of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets has been compiled based upon the new organisational structure, which will be introduced in 2003. In essence, this new structure consists of three parts, the implementation of supervision, the preparation of supervision and the organisation.
