I have a complaint about a financial institution

Perhaps you are dissatisfied with services of a bank, insurer or another financial institution. If this is the case you can submit a complaint.

Below we will explain how and where to submit a complaint in 4 steps.

  1. Write a letter to the relevant financial institution.
  2. Send a letter to the Financial Services Complaints Board (Klachteninstituut Financiële Dienstverlening, or Kifid) and one copy of your complaint to the Financial Markets Information Line.
  3. Or submit your complaint to the competent court if the Kifid cannot handle your complaint.
  4. Check all steps (pay attention to the procedures and conditions of all steps).
