What does the AFM do?
The AFM supervises compliance with the Wft. The AFM monitors, therefore, how financial service providers treat their clients. It does so, for example, by using the notifications received from the Financial Markets Information Line.
You also have a role to play
- Give the advisor the necessary information.
- Always check whether you are being appropriately advised.
- Ask for an explanation of anything you do not understand.
- If a financial service provider fails to observe the rules, you should notify the AFM's Financial Markets Information Line.
