The AFM's registers of markets

The registers are divided into two categories: firms and markets.

In the Markets register you will find information which firms are obliged to submit to the AFM. The Markets register also contains the prospectuses approved by the AFM.

The ‘markets’ category comprises the following Financial Supervision Act (Wft) subregisters:

  • Trading platforms
    This subregister contains an overview of the financial instruments traders established in the Netherlands that have accreditation from the Minister of Finance (article 5:26 of the FSA) or an exemption (article 5:27 of the FSA).
  • Insider transactions
    If an insider trades securities from his own issuing institution, this transaction must be reported and recorded in this subregister. Insiders are the employees of an issuing institution having executive responsibilities and closely related persons, such as his/her partners/spouses and children.
  • Approved prospectuses
    This subregister contains annual lists of approved prospectuses (from 1 July 2005). This prospectuses must be drawn up when offering securities to the public.
  • Price-sensitive information
    All listed companies are obliged to disclose all their price-sensitive information without delay. This is done by means of a press release and by publishing the information on their own websites. The AFM also receives a copy of the press release and includes it in the register.
  • Substantial participations
    This subregister includes registrations of shareholders of an issuing institution who hold 5% or more of the shares and/or voting rights in that institution.
  • Directors and Supervisory Board Members
    This subregister contains the registrations of directors and supervisory board members, their shareholding and the changes in their shareholding in their own institution and associated issuing institutions.
